The Region 9 Rostered Women's Gathering scheduled for November 2020 has been postponed until Fall 2021 due to the virus and concerns for the health and well being of our pastors and deacons.

Not sure where registration forms are?  That’s because we moved Leadership Convocation to January 25-28, 2021!   This event will still take place at Lutheridge, in Arden, NC.   More information to come soon.
 

Narrative Preaching Workshops

Columbia Theological Seminary is providing this workshop series, starting September 21, 2020.   Sign up for this course to examine the power of story to transform congregational consciousness, embrace one’s pastoral identity, and engage God and the world God loves. Particular attention will be paid to narrative forms and storytelling methods.  Fee is $190.

Stewardship Resource Updates!!!

We are excited to share some new stewardship resources. Some of our congregations are seeing an increased emphasis on stewardship, with many stepping up to support the virtual ministries and to ensure that the congregations remain alive and well. Other congregations are struggling week to week. Where ever your congregation lands, we know and trust in God's abundance, and we as a synod are here to help!

Student Loan Assistance for Rostered Ministers

Does your rostered minister have student loan debt? Has your congregation considered assisting with this debt? Now through December 31, 2020 is the perfect time to do this.  The CARES act allows the employer to contribute up to $5,250 toward an employee's student loans. The payment is excluded from the employee's income. It's also tax-free for the employer, since it's not subject to payroll taxes up to the contribution threshold. It's a win win!

Stewardship Kaleidoscope 2020 - Virtual Gathering

September 22, 29, and October 6, 11:00am-1:00pm EDT / 10:00am - 12:00pm CDT

The ELCA will again be co-sponsoring the Stewardship Kaleidoscope Conference again with the Presbyterian Church USA.  This year the conference will be virtual over three successive Tuesdays.  Please see attached flyer.  The series will focus on The Stewardshift of Change in Community, Technology and Across Generations.  Each presentation will be two hours including Q & A.  Scholarships are available.  Scholarships are available.
