We wish to thank everyone for coming out to the Southeastern Synod’s Campus Ministry Summit on August 13, 2020.

We had wonderful guests and lots of resources to share.  Here is a quick breakdown of the information:

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

This document is usually put in place when two denominations (or more) enter into a joint campus ministry effort.  Keep in mind, these MOU's are UNIQUE to each setting and can look drastically different from one to another.   The usefulness of these MOU's is that they provide clear intentions and expectations from each denomination's bishop, as well as provide clarity around ownership of properties and funding sources.

Usually the MOU will include the following signatories:  the bishops of the denominations involved, Pr. Michael Jannett (Assistant to the Bishop - Southeastern Synod of the ELCA), Campus Ministers (could be pastor(s) of local congregation(s) or campus minister(s).

Here are two sample MOU's as PDFs: Grace House and ELF-Macon, GA.  (These are outdated, but serve as good contextual examples.)
