Greetings to all the beloved who are involved in the Youth Ministry of the Southeastern Synod:
I am Pastor Michael Jannett, Assistant to the Bishop for Formation and Communication for our Southeastern Synod.
I have TWO major updates:
- 2022 All GA Lutheran Youth Gathering, and
- 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering

2022 All GA Lutheran Youth Gathering
"SOUL ON FIRE"
At our 2022 All Georgia Lutheran Youth Gathering planning meeting on January 12, 2022, our team has decided for the safety of all involved, that we move our 2022 All GA gathering in a different format this year.
We suggest that you consider the following:
- You may wish to hold this event just as your single congregation, or you may also find safe ways to gather with other congregations in your area if you so choose.
- The curriculum will be focused on helping your group grow in faith through service by reflecting on a service experience. You have the option of working on a service project in your local community, doing a project for your congregation, or using some simple projects we will suggest in the curriculum such as kits for Lutheran World Relief. If you are unable to plan a project by then, you can also use the curriculum by reflecting on projects your group or your youth have done in the past
- The curriculum will likely be enough to last 60-90 minutes in addition to the amount of time you choose to spend on your project.
We would love for your congregation to hold these activities on Saturday, February 26, 2022, as the date for utilizing this curriculum.
Please wear your All Georgia T-Shirts and take pictures/videos and post them on social media, tagging our Instagram account and tagging our event, if possible: @sesyouth #AllGA2022
We are working on a registration form to help us with ordering t-shirts and targeting our communications.
Camp Grace in Roberta, GA (where we were going to hold All Georgia) is a non-profit serving at-risk kids from Atlanta in their summer programming. To support their continuing ministries, we will be accepting donations via the registration form.
The registration link will be available soon, via our All GA Youth Gathering site: https://www.sesyouth.org/All-Georgia. The cost per registration (to help offset the expense of the t-shirts) will be $15. T-shirts will be mailed to your congregation (or a neighboring congregation, where you can pick them up).
We thank you for your important work in the youth ministry where you are. We are doing the most faithful thing we can and look forward to being in person for these events soon.

As for the 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering, here is a social media post that was shared on January 14, 2022:
Due to the latest COVID-19 surge and recent changes in Gathering leadership, we are pausing registration so our team can evaluate and discern the most faithful next steps for the 2022 Gathering, MYLE and the tAble. Registration rates and other key dates will be adjusted accordingly. Stay tuned to our social media, website and gNews for updates in the coming weeks.
