Hello friends of youth ministry:

I wanted to make note of TWO items coming up.

1.). An online conversation about the 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering cancellation and what we will be doing as a synod, moving forward.

Tuesday, February 8, 2022, 8pm ET / 7pm CT

2.). "Making Parents Aware" workshop on suicide prevention.   Led by Kat Folk, a presenter who is trained suicide awareness and prevention.  Kat is currently leading suicide prevention classes at Redeemer, Atlanta, and is passionate about the health and safety of our young people.

Monday, March 7, 2022 - 7-8:15pm ET / 6-7:15pm CT

The second leading cause of death amongst 18-30 year olds is suicide.   That is enough to concern any parent of a young adult.  

Our youth and young adults have struggled mightily of late.  Anxiety, depression, emotional and social stressors, not to mention dealing with a pandemic.  Our young people are experiencing more challenges than ever before. How can we help?

Come to this workshop to learn some basic warning signs and tools to help you engage with the young people in your life who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or thoughts of suicide. 

No matter the age of your children or the children you work with, you are welcome to attend this workshop.
