Hurricane Ian - 9/28/2022 update
Hurricane Ian has left much destruction in its wake and is continuing with its devastating impact on Florida. In addition to our siblings in Florida, we expect that our GA coastal communities will be among those impacted as well. Working with our disaster partners, our disaster team, and congregations, we will reach out to help the communities on the GA coast and inland recover. With your help, we will provide emergency assistance funds for families and individuals impacted by Ian, assist congregations who can provide housing for volunteers, provide needed supplies and materials for repair and rebuild, provide emotional and spiritual care support, and keep you all informed on how to volunteer to help with the clean-up and rebuild. Our Crisis Clean-Up call center volunteer team is already on standby to be activated for this response both for GA and Florida.
Please consider volunteering to help with clean-up once the area is safe to enter. Contact Pastor Morgan Gordy if you can help.

Please consider providing much-needed funds (through the Southeastern Synod) to help with the immediate aftermath needs of survivors.
If Hurricane Ian changes course and our Synod does not sustain any damage requiring a response, then ALL funds donated for the synod's response for Hurricane Ian will be sent to the Florida-Bahama Synod for Hurricane Ian disaster response.

Please continue to pray for all who have been hurt by this catastrophic storm and those still awaiting its arrival. Thank you for caring for your neighbor, especially in times of disaster. It takes us all.
God’s peace,
Pastor Morgan Gordy, Assistant to the Bishop for Disaster Ministry
