Braver Angels "Skills For Bridging the Divide"  Online Workshop! Nov. 20 3:30pm-6:00pm EST

In our current polarized political environment, many people avoid or dread political conversations with friends or family members whose politics differ from their own. They worry, rightly so, that any attempts at political discussions will devolve into arguments and acrimony, and result in hurt feelings or anger. Braver Angels Skills for Bridging the Divide Workshops teach skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of the relationship. They also give participants a safe environment to practice those skills.

Peace Not Walls - An Online Conversation  November 17, 7:00pm EST

The ELCA is working for justice and peace in Palestine and Israel through our campaign, Peace Not Walls. Through accompaniment, advocacy and awareness-raising, Peace Not Walls connects ELCA members to our companions and promotes dignity, full respect for human rights, healing and reconciliation. With our Palestinian Lutheran companions, we also accompany Palestinians and Israelis, Jews, Christians and Muslims working together for peace with justice.

On November 17th at 7pm EST, Assistant to the Bishop Allison Lizdas and our Synod's Peace Not Walls representative Mary Peterson will host a learning experience and conversation about the ELCA's work in the Holy Land.  Not only will we be joined by Pastor Mark Brown, but you will also learn about how you can get involved this Advent!
