Georgia Interfaith Power and Light Faith in Climate Action Week
Interested in dipping your toes in environmental justice, participating in Faith in Climate Action Week, or celebrating Earth Day next month? Join Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL), Scout Troop 103, and Ranger Jonah in cleaning up the Burnt Fork Creek and South Fork Peachtree Creek watersheds on Sunday, April 16 from 1-3 p.m. at Mason Mill Park!
Don't want to get your feet wet? There will likely be trash to be removed from the banks of the creek as well. Trash bags and disposable gloves will be provided, but please wear shoes that are able to get wet. Dress appropriately and bring a refillable water bottle and a snack. If you have work gloves and trash grabbers, those would be great as well. All ages and stages are welcome but since we’ll be walking in and around the creek, this program requires good balance and a sense of adventure. Register here.
Earth Day 2023
This Earth Day, let’s work together and commit to taking big and small steps so we can best steward and care for this sacred planet we all live on. The Climate Crisis is so big that none of us can do everything, but by using the resources in this article, individuals and congregations can take steps to be more responsible caregivers to planet Earth. Find resources here.

The Truth and Healing Movement
The ELCA’s Truth & Healing Movement is an opportunity for this church to increase our understanding of our colonizing impacts on Indigenous people in the past and present. Over the next several months, there will be opportunities to learn, raise awareness and engage in other ways to impact hearts and lives across this church. We believe that the truth, and our knowing and embracing it, is the first step toward healing for all of us.
More information will be shared in the coming days and weeks. Watch Bishop Eaton's video introduction here.
